Eldar Shengelaia

The final short film by legendary Georgian director, Eldar Shengelaia, Abdaubda, carries special significance for Georgian cinematography and cultural heritage. It represents a symbolic summation of the great creator’s life and professional journey and highlights his unique artistic vision.

The Mesma Foundation supported the dubbing of the film during the author’s lifetime. For this reason, together with Eldar Shengelaia’s family, the Foundation organized the film’s first private screening — as a sign of respect and gratitude for the director’s creative legacy.

On December 13, the private screening took place, becoming an important part of a cultural evening. The event was attended by the Foundation’s partners, representatives of the cultural sector, and invited guests. The evening once again highlighted the importance of supporting the arts and the role of social responsibility.
